The Mission in Our Hearts

image montage below welcome

Mustard Seeds Ministries International seeks to help fulfill Christ's Great Commission (Matthew 28:29-30) by developing a movement of men and women of all ages who are inspired and equipped to reach disadvantaged people all over the world. Like the humble mustard seed, our ministry seeks to grow into a sheltering tree where the orphaned, the widowed and the homeless can find health, wholeness, and new life. From our base in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada we aim to spread our branches to the uttermost villages and remotest corners of the globe. Today, we are but a tiny seedling with outreaches as far as India, Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda. Our vision for the years to come is to bring wholeness and wellness to the broken and the destitute with our humble means, believing that God can take the little we have and miraculously multiply it just like he did when he fed the five thousand with a few loaves and fishes.

Inspired and Equipped by Jesus

We need only look to Jesus' work on earth to find our inspiration. What one impassioned man can do! We believe as his disciples that we need to carry on what Christ himself started. As Jesus ministered to the whole man, MSM seeks redemption for the body, the soul and the spirit. This translates to Education, Training, Resources, Missions, Funds and Relief Goods, and Wellness Facilities. We believe that Jesus enables and empowers us himself as we become his hands and feet and eyes and mouths to others.

The Scope of Our Work

Since our inception in 2001, we have joined forces with Jesus to

• create and conduct seminars and home-based teach-ins across Canada

• evangelize and disciple men and women who in turn evangelize and discipleship others

• Conduct mission trips and relief work in Canada and abroad, building health, educational and community facilities while providing much-needed

• publish literature and devotional material in print and on the internet

• establish children's homes in remote villages in India, Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda.

Do browse though our website to fully understand what MSM is all about. We pray that God would speak to you and open your heart and move your hands as you do so. There are thousands of relief organizations and missions in existence yet there is never enough; Jesus himself said, "The poor you will always have with you…" We may never wipe out poverty and disease in the world but we will spend our lives trying. If God moves you to be a part of our ministry, please don't hesitate to contact us. We can never have enough hands and feet for the work of Jesus.

indira's homes

• In Phulbani, India

Back In 2005, when MSM was searching for people who will open their hearts and homes in Phulbani, India, Hanna Misra came forward. Since then Hanna has been caring for orphans from the small village of Phulbani.

• In Yerah, Ethiopia

Yerah is a small mountain village in Ethiopia, 530 Km from Adisabbaba. It consists of 500 mud huts which houses 5 to 6 people in each. It has no electricity, running water, and medical facilities.

• In Kenya

In a little village in Kenya, the smoke from burning grass-thatched huts darken the skies. When a home-owner dies and the house is left unattended and abandoned, relatives gather immediately after the burial to destroy the dwelling and all the diseased person's property and belongings for fear of evil spirits inhabiting the abandoned house.

• In Uganda

On August 28, 2006, my husband ministered at Pastor Edwin Ouma's church in Uganda. Pastor Edwin was one of the Ugandan pastors that we met in Mbale during our conference with about 3000 people.
