Elizabeth's Story

UNPAID PENSION PAID IN FULL

Elizabeth Robin’s Story (as recounted to Indira Patro)

Elizabeth (Liz), a resident of Surrey, was  acquainted with Joyce, a friend of Indira’s and a supporter of MSM. Liz was not well off and, in fact, did not have enough money to pay all of her bills. Apparently, Liz spent all her time watching TV and chatting with neighbours. And while she did profess to believe in God, she did not have an understanding of what real Christianity was all about.

When Joyce got involved in MSM and came to know of God’s laws of provision, she decided to help Liz re-establish her relationship with Christ. Joyce then invited Liz to help her make booklets for a MSM seminar and paid Liz’s registration fee so she could attend it as well.

Liz was surprised to hear about God’s heart regarding our well-being. The fact that God cares about our financial increase was a new concept for her for she was used to holding God responsible for her small income and never thought anything could be done to improve her situation. After the seminar she decided to apply God’s principles with some reservations in her heart.

Liz first looked at her spending habits and brought them under control. She was confident that she could manage better. Then she paid some tithes. Since then Liz has found that her bills are becoming more manageable. In June she received a letter and a cheque from her former employer regarding her pension fund. She thought the settlement cheque was for the amount of $1,900.00, but after consulting with a friend she realized that the amount was actually $19,000.00!

Liz is very grateful to God for answering her with grace despite her skeptical acceptance of His truth. Since receiving her pension cheque Liz has paid off all her debts, bought a car, and gone on a missions trip. She came to a second seminar and learned more about God’s heart towards our financial affairs.

This is just a starting point for Elizabeth. She is learning to walk with the Holy Spirit. She expects to learn more about God’s goodness and live her remaining live for Him while reaching out to others by sharing her story as well as through loving actions.

indira's homes

• In Phulbani, India

Back In 2005, when MSM was searching for people who will open their hearts and homes in Phulbani, India, Hanna Misra came forward. Since then Hanna has been caring for orphans from the small village of Phulbani.

• In Yerah, Ethiopia

Yerah is a small mountain village in Ethiopia, 530 Km from Adisabbaba. It consists of 500 mud huts which houses 5 to 6 people in each. It has no electricity, running water, and medical facilities.

• In Kenya

In a little village in Kenya, the smoke from burning grass-thatched huts darken the skies. When a home-owner dies and the house is left unattended and abandoned, relatives gather immediately after the burial to destroy the dwelling and all the diseased person's property and belongings for fear of evil spirits inhabiting the abandoned house.

• In Uganda

On August 28, 2006, my husband ministered at Pastor Edwin Ouma's church in Uganda. Pastor Edwin was one of the Ugandan pastors that we met in Mbale during our conference with about 3000 people.
